critical questions about how the Town was  changing the rules for the election.
Ramapo Town Clerk Sampson said he would look at the questions and get back to the Preserve Ramapo Chairman--that was around 5 in the afternoon. He did not get back to him

Christopher Sampson

Ramapo Town Clerk                                                              September 29, 2014

As representatives of Preserve Ramapo we are requesting that all absentee ballots and affidavit ballots for tomorrow’s election be placed in a locked room subject to court order so that they may be reviewed before they are counted.

Are you aware that some applications for absentee ballots are being refused and the parties presenting them are being told to leave town hall?  Further, they have been told that they cannot resubmit applications tomorrow.  Are you keeping a list of these supposedly invalid applications which would allow us to challenge your procedure in court?  Are you keeping a list of all persons who have attempted to submit these ballots?

Is it true that you are going to allow people to vote who are not registered voters?  Is this legal?  If you are allowing people to vote who are not currently registered what criteria are you using to allow this voting and what documentation will you be requiring tomorrow?

If such people are being allowed to vote why weren’t we made aware of this before accidentally discovering it today?

We are requesting that we be allowed to be present when tomorrow’s vote is counted.  Where will counting take place, and at what time?

Robert I. Rhodes, Chairman, Preserve Ramapo
